Developing Your Study Skills – Top Tips To Improve Your Studying Time

According to a recent study, students who had study goals performed better than those who did not. Somehow, setting goals helped them achieve more in their academics. What are study goals and how do they help the student? How do you set study goals?

Before you read on, think for a minute: If you went to your teen’s room to speak to him or her about making the ‘right’ kind of friends how would you go about this conversation?

Set an example: When you show that you enjoy learning and reading new material and are willing to put in the effort, your teen s are likely to follow. Be sure to let your teens see your enthusiasm for learning.not your pressure to learn something new in order to retain your job. Demonstrate to your teen that learning is a natural part of life.

Also, looking more closely at writing we will find it can become habit forming. Like jogging or other sports they can be habit forming with positive results of much better health. For some, writing can turn into a form of regularly putting pen to paper. The benefit is the time to write what is on your mind and to get it out. In a sense, thoughts that are penned up inside are released to the paper for an intense review. Another, benefit of a writing habit is that it exercises the mind and makes it flexible.

In the English language the translation that I recommend is the so-called King James or Authorized version. I am a Catholic and yet I recommend this translation for personal study of the Bible. I know some of the words there are foreign to a present day reader. They are called archaic words which belong to the English language in the 16th century but are no longer used now. But there are copies of this version where at the back of the Bible there is a Bible word list where these words are given equivalents in our time. Get a copy of such a King James version Bible. Many groups of Christians are giving out this copy free. Avail of one.

Be consistent! Practice makes perfect! It’s hard to change a habit if your teen’s behaviour is not reliable. Reversely, your teen will strengthen his/her old habit each time s/he engages in it.
